Information provided on VPIC is intended to support local boards and commissions in furthering the goals of
24 V.S.A. Chapter 117, the Municipal and Regional Planning and Development Act. VPIC will only list events and provide links
to websites that are in keeping with those goals.
VPIC will list all Vermont events where the content supports the goals and purposes of Chapter 117, the event is open to
local officials statewide and where the purpose is primarily educational and/or participatory. The following types of events
are not likely to be listed on VPIC:
- Events that are primarily organizational in nature such as annual meetings.
- Members-only events or events open only to people in a specific geographic area.
- Events that are of peripheral interest to local land use officials or that are highly technical in nature such as seminars directed to professionals in engineering, construction, GIS, etc.
- Fundraising events or other types of events that are primarily social or entertaining with limited educational content.
